Teachers

Kaitlin Miller-Haziza


Kate studied jazz trumpet at The New School, where she studied under Cecil Bridgewater, Ingrid Jensen, and Laurie Frink. She later graduated from The City College of New York with a BFA in trumpet performance as well as music education and is a certified K-12 music teacher in the state of NY. She continued her studies in music to earn a MA in music therapy from Montclair State University and currently works as a music therapist in adult psychiatry.

Kate has extensive experience performing throughout NYC and NJ. Kate has played in numerous jazz ensembles, big bands, and orchestras; performing at venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Allen Room at Lincoln Center, and The Iridium. 

Kate has been working with children and teaching music lessons for more than ten years, including private lessons on piano, guitar, and trumpet; group piano lessons; instruction for orchestra trumpet sections; music theory; group music classes; and adaptive piano lessons. Kate has worked privately as well as for a variety of educational companies, community centers, and non-profits.

Etan Haziza


Etan has been a professional music educator and performer for over 15 years. He has attended and taught the New York Classical Guitar School and graduated with a degree in jazz performance from William Patterson University.  He currently teaches children of all ages as well as adults.

Etan has performed as both a leader and a sideman at many notable jazz clubs in NYC such as Blue Note, Fat Cat, Smalls, and the 55 Bar.  

​

After studying music, Etan completed his master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Seton Hall University, and currently works to rehabilitate patients with a variety of communication disorders.
